IF you live in the United States, you probably do some form of recycling. It’s likely that you separate paper from plastic and glass and metal. You rinse the bottles and cans, and you might put food scraps in a container destined for a composting facility. As you sort everything into the right bins, you probably assume that recycling is helping your community and protecting the environment. But is it? Are you in fact wasting your time?

Voters Doubt Clinton's Honesty About Benghazi - Rasmussen Reports™
Thursday, October 22, 2015
Hillary Clinton is scheduled to testify today before a special congressional committee about the attack in Benghazi that happened while she was secretary of State. Clinton claims the probe is politically motivated, but most voters don't think she's telling the whole story about the incident in Libya three years ago.
A Full Measure-Rasmussen Reports national telephone survey finds that 52% of Likely U.S. Voters believe Clinton has not been honest in her disclosures and testimony related to the attack in Benghazi in September 2012 that led to the murder of the U.S. ambassador and three other Americans. Just 27% think she has been honest during the investigations. Twenty-two percent (22%) are undecided. (To see survey question wording, click here.)

Yes stressed and they will be dying for years to come even after the drought is over. Colorado Uni however was definitive that the bark beetle problem and drought are not interrelated. That surprised me as I thought the stress of drought produced opportunity. They found otherwise.

The various pines I saw yesterday practically screamed "We are so dead!" whereas the oaks are more sedate in their time of dying. The interior live oaks that stayed green all year were the first to go in the drought, with the leaves turning a nice shade of tan that had you in denial that they were goners at first, but it wasn't like they were coming back. The branches when alive were so sinewy and tough as nails, but I can snap off a 6 inch wide branch on one quite easily now, there is no there, there.

Blue oaks can go dormant, so they are harder to kill, and all they do is lose their leaves when going toes up, i've only lost a dozen or so of 200 of them on the property.

19 years ago:

And Once a Wolf loved a Rose…

And as the years went by
Love grew in troubled times
Tortured souls given one reprieve
By secret moonlight under ancient trees
In a circle of stone, they would meet

Grey Hunter with his lonely cry
Black Rose, flowers opened, to embrace the night
Souls brought together to become one mind
To form the celestial silver
That fades with the coming of the day

In a waltz through heaven's gate
Planets afire to guide their steps
Masking motions in time
With the frenzied hum of the universe
Chaos held in check by the work of tireless feet

Sweet music of the constellations
The frequency of time in perfect motion
The resonance of lovers under heaven’s care
They feared not the night, nor the darkness there

For with each new day
The joy of the evening faded
And silver strands became again
The lonely shades of black and grey
The blissful eternity of the night
Replaced with measured days
And the bittersweet mortality of Life lived in the light
And time makes even the most stubborn petal fall
But beauty is eternal like the stars that fill the night
And souls brought together by the call of the moon
Dance forever in the silver mists before the morning light
