7 months of rain in two days. Hopefully those F-350 can float!

The guy that created Discourse, Jeff Atwood, also was one of the developers of the software question/answer site Stack Overflow (and other associated question/answer sites). These developers seem to like to make sites into games: hence, they have badges, levels, likes, flags etc. It's all a game.

Won't that eliminate about 95% of the posts?

That's why it should be Disqus.

Summer crop harvest in the southern US is pretty much over including the Gulf rice harvest. Recently planted winter wheat will benefit from badly needed rainfall in the southern plains, but the Midwest will miss out on a lot of the precip.

If the toad-floater doesn't wash all of the seed out of the ground, along with the topsoil. Although they generally just blade it now.

Very cool--you can see the Gulf inflo in Texas/La on the other side.

robj wrote:

Please explain the terminology

Rather than plow the dry plains, they just cut the surface with blades and drill the seed down. Prevents loss of topsoil.

Ahh...no plow seed drilling.

Techniques in western Oklahoma were similar, beginning about 5-10 years before I was a yewt out there.
I think the deep-furrow drill came out in the late 50's or 60's.

You really don't get it. You burned those bridges. You don't rate a flag anymore. You 've already said you don't care.

No, you just have to not be annoyingly off topic.

This hurricane developed at the same time Jos. A. Banks announced the end of the three suits for one sale. Coincidence? I think not. God is angry.

Dooooooooooooooom!!!

Actually on topic when I post this now...

God is angry.

Wich one? There are so many..... Puzzled

I wonder who Pat Robertson will blame for this?

Josh Duggar? The Kardashians? Caitlin Jenner? Snookie & Jwow?

Hi guise. Not much time left till the big bang.

The name Patricia peaked in popularity in the US in the 1940s, and now few people name their daughter Patricia. Why is this hurricane named Patricia? Who are the old people naming these storms? Do they still eat ribbon candy and dance the Charleston? Dammit, man.

They should use Elsa, since no-one I know other than one of my greataunts has that name--other than the Danish woman I hiked with earlier in the week.

Oh cr@p!

Almost 3 of my greataunts:

Elna, Elsa, Ethel. (Ina was my grandmother, but they decided to break the pattern with the youngest--Anne.)

bridges? bwahaha
you are quite right
given my time spent here watching your behavior, a flag from you means nothing to me.....you've whined your way off and then back on, and you've been drooling at the thought of controlling the discussion at the new site
life's too short to care about what you think I care about

Patricia O'Neil.....tough bird
hi Elvis.....you gonna go play flag football over at the new site?
real bean-bag over there...

Exactly when is this "end"?

Belmont (I think it was him) has the date, I'm not sure how many days.

I made it up. Could be today. Or never

Oh, I thought that was one of those light rings people in the far frozen north used to combat seasonal affective disorder.

kcoop said it was I think 7 days from I forget when, and it'll change to archive only.

Calls versus balls! Monkeys that roar like tigers produce less sperm

University of Cambridge researchers have revealed that male howler monkeys with larger throats tend to have more diminutive testes and produce less sperm than quieter monkeys.

I can think of some parallels.

Five minutes to midnight

The twelfth of never?

Peanut harvest is pretty much done in North Florida. Not sure about South Georgia tho. Plenty of truck loads of timber heading for the chip & saw mill.

Belmont, I don't see Rajesh on the new site. If you want a nemesis to taunt, you better start working on him.

And all those prediction points down the drain now.....

Our numbers are declining? We must be Japan?

When what is happening in your world doesn't make sense, when it doesn't conform to your beliefs about how things should work, it's time to ask hard questions.

Of course, the doesn't apply here.

The perfect challenge, Belmont. Gives meaning to life.

I confess that I kissed both my cousin Lindy Lou (caught in the act) and my cousin Amy (uncaught) at my grandma's party when we were 10. To this day, I remain unrepentent.

The secret of HCN is there is no secret HCN.

To this day, I remain unrepentent.

OH! Hi unrepentent! (Wait. Isn't it unrepentant? You spelled your own user name wrong?)

Actually, in some cultures, and a few US states, marrying your cousin is not taboo.

Trust me. The new RFID implant access codes are ready to roll the moment Ken freezes the archive. Nobody gets near the shadow server until we go full Hillary on it.
